This is the video which expresses the weirdness of the lockdown experience, the loneliness, the sense of timelessness and also how COVID inspired us all to re-evaluate what mattered to us.
You could still try out this activity for yourself now! The quiz was developed by Ria Maguire with the support of all the staff members who contributed their photos. The quiz kept us all occupied but also kept us all connected.
This wonderful wee video is an example of the fabulous creative work our students shared, again cheering us up and keeping us connected.
Even in lockdown, we still had to look ahead and think about all the P6s and P7s who needed to find out about Shimna so that they could make an informed choice about which school to apply to.
Staff were particularly conscious that year 14 were had had such a very disrupted and disjointed last year at Shimna, and wanted to pay tribute to them in this farewell video.
The year 14s responded with a wonderful video which gave each student the opportunity to send their farewell message to staff and to each other.
It was particularly poignant for Kevin to have to end the school year without an in-person send-off for the year 12 and year 14 students. So Kevin, and his son Kieran, made a farewell and good luck video at home.
